Simplicity S8875 Pattern Review

Hello sewist,

Grab your tea, because here is another sewing pattern review.

Everyone knows my favorite dress are empire waist dress. When I was searching for a new sewing pattern at Hobby Lobby with that 1.99 per sewing pattern, I came across this gem. Empire Waist dress with flowy sleeve. It was  screaming my name!It is extremely easy to make, I finished it in 2 hours (with procrastination).

I used mostly my brother serger 1034DX to finish this dress. Since this is a light fabric, almost too light to sew my zipper on, and guess what, I skipped the zipper. I think it looks much better without the zipper too, it drapes naturally on my skin and emphasizes the curve of my back. The best of all, no zipper no hassle. At least I don’t have to turn around like an owl to pull the zipper up. (Which reminds me of this funny story that I’ll be sharing on my next post.)
I got this aloha type deal of fabric from Joann’s. (Crepe Fabric)

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I made two dresses with the same pattern.
